Estimate a healthy weight range using four classic formulas: Devine, Robinson, Miller and Hamwi. Adjust for frame size if known.
The Devine formula (1974) is one of the most commonly cited. Robinson and Miller refined it later. The Hamwi formula is another classic method still used in clinical settings. Showing all four gives a more realistic range than relying on a single equation.
Ideal body weight formulas estimate a target weight range from height (and sometimes sex). They are rough guides โ muscle mass, bone structure and goals change what is ideal for you.
There is no single best formula. This tool shows several common ones so you can see a range rather than one rigid number.
Better to aim for a range that fits your energy, strength and health markers. Scale weight alone does not define fitness or health.
Most classic formulas do not. Someone with more muscle can be heavier than the formula suggests and still be healthy. Body composition tools help fill that gap.
